Wow, what a year. We are extending a giant THANK YOU to everyone for following along with our blog, sending us kind notes, comments and overall support of our Baja life. We’re lucky to have you in our lives. To document the last 365 days, we figured a visual blog of photographs and memories would be the best way to do it. 2019
OCTOBER
Arrived in Cabo on October 1st after one epic road trip!
1st wedding anniversary (true date) dinner at El Farallon.
Catching up with our brother from another mother, Lorenzo, for our first time as “locals”.
Rob & Ellen in town when we arrived, making the jump from Denver to Baja feel a bit more like home.
Getting used to… everything. Our first Cabo rainstorm and flooding, endless problems with our internet, and learning how to pay bills. Thankfully we were also getting used to amazing sunrises and sunsets.
NOVEMBER
Two weeks with the Turner & Daly clan in Cabo!
Lots of “firsts”: Leigh driving in Mexico, Leigh’s mom visits for a day trip from a cruise in port…
…and our (first time) running out of water…
…unfortunately not the first (nor the last) occasion of internet problems.
Patrick & Emma get engaged and we got to be in on the surprise!
Boat days…

DECEMBER
Exploring our neighborhood and El Tulé beach.
A trip back to Denver for the holidays to see family and friends.
Ken makes a new friend with our dog-sitter’s dog, Thaky.
A little afternoon remote work session for two…
Getaway weekend at Acre Baja — they gave us a free weekend stay in their treehouses after booking our wedding with them. Dog friendly, too!

2020
JANUARY
Leigh’s first solo trip back for a week-long work trip in Vegas mid-month.
The sunsets continue to never get old…
Whale watching trips!
Evenings at the San Jose Art Walk.
FEBRUARY
Chiefs win the Superbowl!
Leigh’s Mom comes to visit for 5 days.
Leigh took a trip back to the states to visit Phoenix for work.
We met up with some friends in town from Dallas — Jessi & Jon — we all enjoyed an awesome wine tasting and dinner at Solaz!
MARCH
Kyle’s first solo trip back to the US 10th annual boys ski trip in Keystone/Denver.
Leigh’s girlfriends visit Cabo while Kyle’s away.
One of our last happy hours out on the marina before the Cabo quarantine shutdown…

MAY
A few road trips to the East Cape — almost no souls in sight every time!
Watermelon basil margaritas on the roof!
JUNE
A Spa day at home, finally getting to (legally) leave our house, water gun fights paired with a Mezcal tasting, and creating @HolaCabo to capture all of our experiences!

Exploring the new farmer’s market down the street at El Huerto.
Our first drinks out of the house (in public) for months! Sipping margaritas on the swings at Baja Cantina.
Juicing and bottling our own watermelon juice — mostly for our watermelon basil margaritas or mezcalitas…
…we brought some over for the Mezcal tasting at Tammy’s pool.
Another round of rats chewing our fiber optic internet cables…
JULY
Businesses start to re-open (with restrictions, of course) allowing us to get back to exploring Baja.
For a change of scenery from our “lockdown” home, we found a deal at Le Blanc Resorts and booked a staycation — read all about it here!
Mimosas and surfing while exploring Cerritos Beach! Followed by some amazing drinks and tacos at Barracuda Cantina — the “best beach bar and fish tacos in Baja”.
Checking out the new restaurant and market, Metate. Lots of local vendors selling food, art, and crafts.
Kennedy getting in on our rooftop pool action. She just had to be closer to us!
Tasty cocktails and dinner paired with live music at Bar Esquina… all things we haven’t enjoyed for months!
Golden Hour at Le Blanc before an amazing Italian dinner. We had such a wonderful time. Read our full Le Blanc staycation post to see all of our fun!
A few of our favorites to finish out July — coconut shrimp at Tabasco’s Beach Grill and lunch with a view at SUR Beach Club!
AUGUST
Queue hurricane season! Thankfully we squeezed in a few fun outings before Hurricane Genevieve hit.
Breakfast with a view at COMAL — Chileno Bay Resorts.
Brunch at Hotel El Ganzo in the San Jose marina followed by an afternoon sipping margaritas at their beachside day club.
Hurricane time! We were up all night sopping up water in every room to keep the house from flooding. Read the full story and all the details here.
Once we had things under control at home, we headed to Medano beach to help with the cleanup aftermath.
SEPTEMBER
Sunset boat trip with our new friends Alonso and Carla for Carla’s birthday!
Another fun weekend lounging at Cachet Beach Club and catching up with our friend Edielberto.
Sunsets at “Shipwreck’s Beach” by Sheridan Resorts. The beach was much shorter after the hurricane.
Football season finally arrived! Enjoying some beers and delicious wings on the rooftop of Baja Brewing for the Chiefs game.
OCTOBER
The Turner and Daly crew arrive in Cabo for their annual two-week trip. Check out all the fun we had in our detailed post here!
